Art Commissions in North Wales

Art commissions are a great way to create a focal point in your home which tells a story entirely of your own making. Art can be created from a photo you’ve taken, or a sketch you’ve made, or you can tweak an existing artwork by the artist by introducing a different colour palette. Whatever your ideas, if you commission artwork then these ideas can come to life, and in exactly the way you want them to.

How do I commission art?

Whether you wish to commission landscape art, commission seascape art, or perhaps portraits of people, the following considerations are things you need to bear in mind:

  • Your budget should be set to give the artist an idea of what she can offer you
  • You should have an idea of when you would like or need the artwork to be completed. This is especially important if you are commissioning artwork as a gift.
  • Finally, you should have a clear idea in mind of how you want your perfect artwork to look.

Once you have firm answers to all of these considerations the artist will be able to further discuss your requirements with you, either in person, via video call or over the phone. You can email inspiration images or the exact images of what you wish the artist to replicate.

How much will it cost?

Art commission prices differ from piece to piece and there are a variety of things that can affect the final cost of the artwork. The larger the piece you want the more expensive this will be, and prices also differ between art printed on canvas or in a framed print. In your discussion with the artist she will be able to discuss these different types of finish with you.

When do I pay for commissioned artwork?

Once your commission has been accepted you will be asked to pay a deposit to be held against the agreed final cost of the piece. After this has been paid the artist will be able to start working, in order to achieve the completion date you set together. You will pay the remainder of the total value once the piece has been completed.

How do I pay for commissioned art?

Once you have had your initial conversation with Beth Horrocks you will then be invoiced for the deposit monies. Payment information will be included in this invoice.

How long will it take?

The length of time it takes for your commission to be completed depends on the work you wish to have done, how large the piece is and whether or not you want this framed or not. The artist will make sure you are aware of the length of time needed to create the piece and be able to give you an expected deadline.

What can I commission?

You can commission anything you would like to see on the walls of your home. If you’re looking to make an art commission of Gwynedd scenery, art commissions of UK landscapes and seascapes, or images of scenery from locations around the world, then this can be achieved for you.

Can I return a commissioned artwork?

Unfortunately, you cannot return a commissioned artwork, which is why it is essential you know exactly what you want before discussing this with the artist.
