Bae Caerdydd Framed Print (Limited Edition)
“Cardiff Bay at twilight, the soft diffused light as the sun sets beyond the horizon. I love this moment of the day when sunset turns to nightfall, it brings such an exquisite palette of colours only to last momentarily. The lights of Cardiff's vibrant waterfront reflect off the glassy waters, looking so pretty against the urban night sky." - Beth
A commissioned piece to draw Cardiff Bay, our Welsh capital. Home to Olympic Sailor Hannah Mills, not my usual rural boating backdrop at all but an enjoyable challenge all the same. Once a bustling hub shipping millions of tonnes of Welsh coal across the globe, Cardiff Bay's fortunes were built on coal. With the decline of the coal industry the old docklands fell in to disuse and were left to decay but, in recent times, they have been redeveloped to create an exciting waterfront around the shore of a stunning freshwater lake. Now the area is once again a bustling hive of activity, numerous restaurants, bars and entertainment have replaced the old ships and machinery. Steeped in Welsh history, there are many attractions which make our beloved capital well worth a visit.
The XL AP otherwise known as the Artist Print, is unique as it's the only size which is produced using 7 inks as opposed to the standard 4, and is UV cured for extreme durability. Beth only ever produces one edition at this size, therefore there would only be one in the world.
