Golau Oer Ar Y Goleudy Canvas Print (Limited Edition)

“A cold, blustery winter’s walk to Llanddwyn Island with my husband and our three young children, all wrapped up in their colourful outdoor gear, with the promise of a well-deserved hot chocolate afterwards…

The cold winter light shone across the lonely lighthouse, beneath the pinky-purple hues of an unsettled sky, while the rocks glowed with splashes of golden-yellow lichen. It was a stormy yet exhilarating walk — heaven on earth, whatever the weather.” - Beth

Llanddwyn Island is steeped in Welsh history, legend and romance. It is closely associated with Santes Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers, who is said to have retreated to the island following heartbreak and devoted her life to God. She founded a convent there, and the atmospheric ruins of Eglwys Santes Dwynwen can still be seen today.

Nearby lies Ffynnon Dwynwen (Dwynwen’s Well), where legend tells of a sacred fish whose movements were once believed to foretell the fortunes of lovers.

Golau Oer Ar Y Goleudy is a fine art painting inspired by Llanddwyn Island, capturing the magic, mystery and wild beauty of this fascinating place. The artwork reflects the cold winter light, dramatic skies and unmistakable silhouette of Llanddwyn Lighthouse, creating a distinctive Welsh landscape artwork for lovers of Anglesey, coastal scenery and local history.

This Llanddwyn Island artwork is available as a canvas print in three sizes. Each canvas is individually printed to order and digitally hand-signed by Beth, with the option to have your canvas professionally framed. The artwork is also available as a framed fine art print -  head to this page

The XL Artist’s Proof (AP) is particularly special. This is the largest version of the Golau Oer Ar Y Goleudy artwork and is produced only once, making it a completely unique piece — the only one of its size in the world.

If you are looking for a unique Welsh landscape painting, an Anglesey art print or a special gift inspired by Llanddwyn Island and Santes Dwynwen, Golau Oer Ar Y Goleudy offers a meaningful way to bring the atmosphere and romance of this remarkable place into your home.
